FISHING
Belize offers incredible action for all three premier flats species. Bonefish are highly plentiful and primarily target shrimp patterns, making varied fly sizes and sink rates essential for the shallow flats. For a test, anglers can target tarpon of all sizes, ranging from 5 to 20-pound juveniles in the mangroves to migratory giants exceeding 100 pounds. Finally, the ultimate challenge is the permit; while notoriously difficult to trick, the massive schools surrounding the lodge offer rare, multiple-shot opportunities in a single day.
ACCOMODATIONS
The Villa features four custom-designed rooms with private ocean-view balconies, Belizean hardwood accents, and premium bedding. Its expansive living and dining area offers 270-degree views of the barrier reef, opening onto an upstairs deck with a grill and breakfast bar. Downstairs, the decks wrap around a pool with a swim-up bar, leading to 150 feet of sandy beach frontage packed with social areas, shaded palapas, and a poolside pergola. Guests can also walk out to the end of the dock to relax under a large overwater palapa or use the swim platform and ladder.
TRAVEL
Book a commercial flight into Belize City International Airport (BZE). From there, you can reach Ambergris Caye via a scenic, 15-minute regional flight to San Pedro with Tropic Air or Maya Island Air. Alternatively, you can take a 90-minute boat ride on the San Pedro Express Water Taxi.
Whichever route you choose, staff will meet you right at the San Pedro airport or boat dock to bring you straight to the lodge.
WHEN TO GO

Winter (December–February): Mild weather and highly consistent fishing for bonefish, permit, and resident tarpon.

Spring (March–May): Settled winds and the absolute prime time for spotting large numbers of schooling permit.

Summer (June–mid-August): Light winds and the peak of the migratory tarpon run, offering your best shot at giant fish over 100 pounds.

Fall (mid-August–October): More volatile tropical weather, but clear days yield great multi-species action, and rainy days offer top-tier blind casting for big tarpon.
NON-ANGLING
At Blue Bonefish Lodge, non-angling guests have plenty of options for relaxation, adventure, and exploring Ambergris Caye:

Snorkeling & Scuba Diving: Explore the world-famous Belize Barrier Reef, including local trips and deep-sea diving excursions.

Spearfishing & Reef Excursions: For a mix of snorkeling and harvesting, you can take a guided spearfishing trip that includes a private beach BBQ lunch to cook your catch.
