AWelcome to ARGENTINA, home to PRISTINE dry fly WATERS

Argentina is globally renowned as a bucket-list destination for fly fishing enthusiasts, offering an unparalleled diversity of pristine waters and trophy species against the dramatic backdrop of South American landscapes. In the southern expanse of Patagonia, vast braided rivers, clear spring creeks, and glacial lakes host thriving populations of wild brown, rainbow, and brook trout. Anglers flock to legendary waters like the Chimehuin, Malleo, and Limay rivers, where they can cast large dry flies and streamers to aggressive fish. Further south in Tierra del Fuego, the famed Río Grande attracts those seeking world-record sea-run brown trout, providing an intense, technical challenge in one of the world's most remote environments. Beyond the classic trout fisheries of the south, Argentina’s northern sub-tropical waters deliver an entirely different, thrilling angling experience centered around the Golden Dorado. In the expansive Iberá Wetlands and along the mighty Paraná River, anglers trade delicate trout gear for heavier tackle to target these acrobatic, apex predators. Known as the "river tiger," the Golden Dorado is celebrated for its explosive surface strikes, ferocious runs, and impressive leaps, making northern Argentina a world-class warmwater destination. Coupled with exceptional local hospitality, luxurious remote lodges, and traditional Argentine asados, fly fishing in Argentina offers a complete and unforgettable adventure.

Chocolate lab expedition lodge

Based in San Martin de los Andes, Chocolate Lab Expeditions(CLE), offers some of the best fishing in all of Patagonia and over 300+ miles of private access waters.  Owners Ron and Vanessa Sorensen have been guiding and outfitting anglers in Northern Patagonia since 1995, building a reputation for dependable excellence as they have shared their passion for fishing Patagonia over the years.

RIO CAPTAIN Lodge

Rio Capitan Lodge is located in the remote southern reaches of Patagonia, near the southern tip of South America in Santa Cruz Province. The lodge offers access to several rivers and streams that feed into Lago Quiroga, creating an exceptional fishery for large wild trout. Compared to the more famous Jurassic Lake, which lies only a few miles away, Rio Capitan provides a quieter and far less pressured experience. Anglers still have the opportunity to target giant lake-run fish while also exploring remote streams filled with aggressive, oversized trout.
