Welcome to THE BAHAMAS, home to the GOLD STANDARD of fly fishing

Fly fishing in the Bahamas is widely considered the gold standard for salt-water angling, renowned worldwide for its expansive, translucent flats and world-class flats species. Anglers from across the globe travel to iconic destinations like Andros, Abaco, Long Island, and the Exumas to pursue the elusive bonefish—often dubbed the "grey ghost" of the flats due to its incredible camouflage and blistering speed. Wading or skiff-fishing over fine white sand and shallow marls offers a sight-fishing experience like no other, where success relies on reading subtle cues, precise casting, and precise fly placement into the wind. Beyond the thrill of bonefishing, the Bahamian archipelago presents a diverse and dynamic fishery that appeals to seasoned and novice fly fishers alike. The lush mangroves, creeks, and deep-water drop-offs house permit, tarpon, barracuda, and jacks, providing opportunities for a shallow-water grand slam. Beyond the fishing itself, the rich culture of local Bahamian guides—many with generations of knowledge passed down—elevates the adventure, offering deep insights into the tides, weather patterns, and aquatic life that make the Bahamas an unforgettable saltwater fly fishing haven.

Deadman's Bonefish Camp

South of the hallowed flats of Andros Island and nearly parallel with Cuba lies Long Island, Bahamas. Long Island is known for its large wadeable flats, quantities of bonefish, and the realistic chance of hooking a double-digit bonefish. If you look at it on a map and find Deadman’s Cay on Long Island you will quickly see the expansive flats that lie between the island of Exuma, Bahamas (also known for large sized bonefish) and Long Island. Deadman’s is just a few minutes from the airport on Long Island which is accessed by first flying into Nassau, Bahamas.
