ABOUT HOUSE OF FLY
House of Fly was born in central Montana in 2003 when a couple of 17-year-old fly-fishing-addicted high school kids bought inventory from a shuttered fly shop and secured one aisle in one farm store to sell their goods.
Today, House of Fly is a collection of seven full-service, family-owned fly shops sprinkled across the Pacific Northwest, including the iconic Trout Shop, which rests on the banks of the Missouri River in Craig, Montana. House of Fly also owns The Trout Shop Lodge and Hub Saloon in Craig, just across the street from the Trout Shop, making it an ideal location to base a weekend or weeklong voyage on the Missouri.

WHO WE ARE
To work at House of Fly there is one simple requirement: You got to live to fish. And that’s what we do. Whether floating the Missouri or Madison, stalking bonefish in the Bahamas or Belize, or hunting silver kings in Puerto Rico and the Florida Keys, we live and breathe fly fishing in all seasons and conditions. We’re the type of people who know the difference between a saddle and a neck and obsess over the perfect bucktail. We’re the kind of guys and gals who would drive six hours in wintry conditions to fish five and probably turn around and do it again the following day . . . if the fishing was good. We also know after a long day on the water, when you might be tired, wet and cold, that a gas-station burger, where the bun, cheese and burger merge as one, is more rewarding than the finest petit fillet.

When you visit House of Fly, you’ll see all the best brands in fly fishing along with our own lineup of creative, culture-inspired apparel and gear, all designed by our crew. We believe that fly fishing should be accessible and fun and that you belong in our shop and on the water whether you’re a seasoned angler or wading in for the first time. We know this: you are our greatest asset, and our aim is to put you on the water with everything you need for success, including local knowledge.
We’re also natural-born adventure-travelers and our House of Fly travel arm hosts custom, fair-priced/high-reward, small-group trips in a variety of locales, including Puerto Rico, Belize, the Bahamas, Texas, Mexico and Alaska, among other destinations.
In the end we sell the gear we believe in, host trips to the unique places we like to fish, and we’re always looking to make your days on the water better. Ultimately, House of Fly represents creativity, the freedom to explore the natural world with a fly rod in hand, and to do it well
