FISHING
CLE offers a range of fishing options by utilizing a mix of public and over 300 miles of private access waters on over 12 local rivers, 8 estancias (fishing ranches), private leases, and various overnight camp floats. World famous rivers such as the Malleo, Chimehuin, Collon Cura, and the Limay Tailwater are the focus of CLE's operation plus many lesser known rivers that fish well seasonally. In 2022 CLE opened up Limay River Ranch, offering 36 miles of access to this incredible tailwater.
This area of Patagonia offers very diverse types of fishing- from sight casting to rising trout on spring creeks, to stalking big browns on crystal clear mountain streams, throwing large dries on faster freestones, and fishing massive tail waters. From the often prolific mayfly and caddis hatches of the early summer (Dec-early Feb) and fall (late March-April) to the inch worm infestation and minnow runs during mid-summer, this rich area always has something to offer the visiting angler.

TRAVEL
Day 1: International Departure
Depart from your regional airport and connect to your overnight international flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Upon arrival, do to flight connections you will transfer to a hotel for an overnight stay in Buenos Aires.
Day 2: Travel to the Lodge
After breakfast, you will transfer back to Buenos Aires Airport for your domestic flight to San Martín de los Andes. Upon arrival, a member of the Chocolate Lab Expeditions team will greet you at the airport and provide transportation to your lodge or estancia, where your fishing adventure begins.
Fishing Days
Your daily fishing itinerary will depend on the customized package and the number of nights you have booked. Each day, you'll enjoy guided fishing on world-class waters while experiencing the hospitality, cuisine, and accommodations of your selected lodge or estancia.
Departure Day
Following breakfast, a member of the lodge staff will transfer you to San Martín de los Andes Airport for your domestic flight to Buenos Aires. From there, you will connect with your international flight back to the United States. In most cases, no overnight stay in Buenos Aires is required on your return.
Arrival Home
Arrive in the United States, clear customs if necessary, and connect with your flight back to your home airport, concluding your Chocolate Lab Expeditions experience.
WHEN TO GO
November-May
Typical length stay is 5-10 days and combines anywhere from two to three lodges. This allows anglers to experince much more of Argentina and the rivers it offers.

NON-ANGLING & FOOD
- Depending on the lodge you choose, a variety of non-angling activities may be available during your stay. Options can include wine tasting, horseback riding, golfing, kayaking, and more. Each activity can be tailored to your interests and incorporated into your trip, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
- A stay at CLE Lodge & Estancia is as much a culinary experience as it is an outdoor adventure. Every meal celebrates the flavors of Patagonia, showcasing locally sourced ingredients, traditional Argentine recipes, and warm estancia hospitality. During your daily adventures, enjoy satisfying lunches prepared with fresh regional ingredients. Depending on your itinerary, meals may be served at the lodge or as scenic riverside picnics, featuring grilled meats, homemade sandwiches, crisp salads, empanadas, fresh fruit, and sweet treats.
Packages start with arrivals on Saturday and departures the following Friday (6 nights):
