The Kryptonite Sculpin has a profile that trout can’t resist while casting like a dream on just about any rod you choose to huck it with. It was designed to swing on trout Spey rods, but it certainly isn’t limited to two-handers. With a 3/16 brass bead hidden inside it, creating a prop for the pectoral fins and just enough weight to get it sinking, it retains excellent castability. The Kryptonite is tied on a barbless single hook to eliminate deep hook sets as trout often attack sculpin from the head. As it swings, make sure to give the rod small, rhythmic pulses to trigger startling predatory strikes.
