Allen Campbell's Ol' Mr. Wiggly

The Ol' Mr. Wiggly is a Mid-West Smallmouth staple and is a staple in the box of American signature tyer Allen Campbell. This dry fly pattern was originally tied by Charlie Piette for discerning smallmouth who resist the chugging action of poppers in low and clear water as the dog days of summer grind on. Campbell uses this pattern in his guide program, and we have found this fly to work well anywhere bass eat. This pattern fills the void between smaller damsels and dragonflies, is lightweight for all day casting, and is a great alternative to poppers and gurglers when bass are looking to the surface.
