Inspired by the Animas River flowing just upstream from Ross Reels’ Montrose, Colorado headquarters, the Animas Limited Edition – Purple blends proven performance with a striking, modern aesthetic. This reel is a celebration of Western rivers, precision machining, and the confidence that comes from gear built to fish hard—day after day.
The Animas is built around a fully machined aluminum frame and spool, featuring intricate porting and a structural profile designed for strength without excess weight. Its ultra-large, bell-shaped arbor delivers fast line pickup and reduced line memory, keeping you connected when the moment matters. Inside, Ross’ upgraded composite drag system provides smooth, consistent stopping power across both freshwater and saltwater applications.
A lightweight canvas phenolic handle maintains grip when wet, while the low-profile, two-tone drag knob offers precise, intuitive adjustment. Finished in a corrosion-resistant anodized purple, this limited edition Animas is as durable as it is distinctive—ready for everything from everyday trout duty to larger streamer and light saltwater setups.
