None of us know why trout go crazy for the flashy bugs but at certain times trout lose their minds over them. This pattern features a lot of bells and whistles. The shiny pink bead and the bright orange tag along with a flashy body are all attention grabbers. This fly is without a doubt categorized as an attractor pattern. The CDC incorporated is the one attribute that might suggest this is a bug and not a nano bot invading the trouts territory. Whether they eat it for a nano bot or a bug isn’t really our concern. A flashy attractor pattern such as this one is often fished in combination with a more natural, drab looking bug as a means of A/B testing the mood of the fish on a given day. As a pet peeve Sean coated the slick, fragile flash body of this fly in a UV resin coating to ensure durability. As long as you have your weight selection and tippet diameter matched to the water you’re in to achieve the appropriate sink rate, this fly is absolutely worth giving a try. This pattern is tied on size 16 jig hooks with 3mm tungsten beads and 18 with 2.5mm beads.
