Rod Designer Klaus Frimor Joins Team Fly Project
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (June 10, 2026) - House of Fly and The Fly Project have announced the hiring of spey-casting legend Klaus Frimor, which will significantly bolster its fly line, fly reel, and fly rod design branches.
Frimor has spent most of his career working with Loop Tackle and has hands-on experience in all phases of Loop’s rod, reel, and line design, including rod, reel and line design. He’s also managed Loop’s high-end fishing lodges, taught immersive casting clinics, and he led Atlantic salmon fishing schools. He spends summers guiding for Atlantic salmon in Iceland. He spends fall on Idaho’s Clearwater River testing rod and line designs. He will now work exclusively for The Fly Project brand, alongside founders (and fellow spey-rod enthusiasts) Sam Wike, Calvin Fuller, and Fred Telleen.
“I’ve known the Fly Project guys for about 15 years and I love the way they look at fly fishing,” Frimor said. “Their innovation is great, they include as many young anglers as possible, and pricing on their products is really good. And they support local fly tyers with their American Small-Batch program.
“To be fair, they go against the current a little,” Frimor said. “I like that attitude and I can support the whole idea behind The Fly Project -- innovation and thinking outside the box. I’m looking forward to working on some projects that are really, really cool.”
